Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Decline Premarket Tuesday

09:13 AM EDT, 06/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were declining premarket Tuesday, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) down 0.3% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) marginally lower.

Academy Sports and Outdoors (ASO) shares were down more than 4% after the company reported lower fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings and net sales.

QuantaSing Group (QSG) stock was up more than 14% after the company said its board authorized a share repurchase program under which the company may repurchase up to $20 million of its Class A ordinary shares in the form of American depositary shares.

Calavo Growers (CVGW) shares were up over 13% after the company reported higher Q2 adjusted earnings and net sales.
